When Steven Pitre came to an orientation at NHS – Northshore in July of 2009, little did he realize that in less than a year, he would live in a 3 bedroom, 2 bath, 1500 square foot house with mortgage payments he could afford. Because Mr. Pitre went to an Act of Sale with the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) in May of 2010, he was able to apply for (and receive!) the $8,000 tax credit for first-time homebuyers.
| "I love my house! It's real nice! This is so much better than having to rent and pay money for something that you will never be able to call your own. I'm a homeowner now!" - Steven Pitre |
Pitre was able to use the USDA 502 Direct Loan to have a home built on property that he owned in Mandeville , Louisiana . For more information on the 502 Direct Loan, see below.
“My daughter is in junior high school. She lives with me and loves bringing her friends over to the house. Life is better now. I’m very thankful!”
